How the price is worked out
Per foot, for the whole system. I measure every run of eavestrough and price the job by the foot. The per-foot price includes all six steps: the clean-out, the resealing, the re-pitch and re-hang, the guard with its diverters and strainers, the flush tests and the photo report. Nothing in the system is an add-on.
What can add to it, and it's on the quote as its own line: inside corners, downspout strainers, a second storey, a steep roof. Fascia repair, re-hanging beyond six hangers, or a new run of gutter are photographed and priced separately in writing, never sprung on you on the day.
Then it's in writing. Your quote arrives within 24 hours of the measure. It lists every run and its feet, the product, each add-on, the subtotal, HST, the total, the deposit and the balance, the warranty in plain words, and your cancellation rights. Range on the driveway if you ask; the exact number in writing.
The rules I keep
One price, the same for everyone on your street. No "today only" tier, no manager to call, no discount that appears when you say no.
Good for 30 days. Take the quote, compare it, sleep on it. Nobody follows up after three weeks unless you ask.
The same price for every way of paying. e-Transfer, card or cheque, no surcharge, no cash discount.
A 30% deposit when you sign, the balance on the day the work and the walkthrough are done.
Ten days to change your mind. Ontario law gives you 10 days after you receive your signed copy to cancel for any reason. Your deposit comes back in full, within 15 days.
A fixed price, not an estimate. The number on the quote is the number on the invoice, unless you approve a written change first.
Comparing quotes
Put ours beside any other written quote and check the same lines: is the gutter cleaned, resealed and re-pitched, or only covered? Which product, fastened how? Who comes back, and what does the warranty actually cover? If another quote is better for you, take it.
